The Department of Chemistry consists of faculty members and students who actively engage in a broad range of educational activities. Here, knowledge of chemistry is enhanced through intensive course works, laboratory experiments, and individual research. The programs offered by the Department of Chemistry aim to make the students creative and productive scientists and are tailored largely to the interest of each student, giving each student freedom to arrange his or her schedule for course work and research activity. In addition, as skillful instrumentation is essential requirement for chemists, the Department of Chemistry provides the students with opportunity to be acquainted with instrumentation through course works and individual research activities.
The Department of Chemistry is a place where the faculty members and students pursue a strong mutual interaction in an open and friendly environment.
Degree Requirements
- Candidates seeking the Master's degree must publish at least one research paper in SCI journals. Candidates for the Doctorate degree and candidates for the combined Master․Doctorate degree must publish three research papers in SCI journals.
- Candidates for the Master's degree must give at least two oral presentations on their research works at a Departmental seminar. Candidates for the Doctorate degree and candidates for the combined Master․Doctorate degree must give at least three oral presentations on their research works at the Departmental seminars.
- Any student who earned Bachelor's or Master's degree in fields other than chemistry must take basic undergraduate chemistry subjects designated by the Department chair.
